Blue Bat Kitchen & Tequilaria will be launching its new brunch menu on Saturday, January 19, inspired by cuisines around the world.
“Global cuisine offers so much culinary flexibility and it’s a chef’s dream to compose a menu like Blue Bat’s brunch menu,” Hospitality Democracy’s Executive Chef/Vice President of Food and Beverage, Alex Sazama, says in a news release. “What we have captured is a snapshot of literal and adapted brunch favorites, offering our guests a wide of variety of options and flavors.”
Highlights on the menu include a ginger soy-glazed pork belly bao benedict, shakshuka and churro pancakes with dulce de leche.
“Alex’s idea is really to take from plates all over the world,” Hospitality Democracy’s Vice President of Marketing, Kristin Godfrey, tells me. “We have inspiration from literally all over, now what do you do to make a really cool brunch menu? It’s one of the hardest things in general, and his answer was I’m going to do a bit of every thing.”
Godfrey says popular lunch items will still remain an option during weekend brunch hours.
“We want it to be a place where people can come and park it for the day,” she explains. “If you came in here because you like lunch on Saturdays, we’re not going to mess with your head. You can still get lunch on Saturday here. If you’re totally into brunch, we have the brunch.”
Of course, the brunch menu will also showcase Blue Bat’s 160+ bottle tequila collection, with highlights such as the Rising Sun, Gincident and Wake the Dead (I tried a sip of the house made tequila cream for the coffee… so delicious!
Brunch hours will run from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Blue Bat Kitchen is located at 249 N. Water Street. To make a reservation or to see the full menu options, click here.
